I named this piece Carmine Rose for the color of paint I fell in love with and used throughout the painting. This is a departure for me, as I normally have a rather tight style when it comes to floral's. I enjoyed seeing where the paint would take me as the painting just grew on the canvas with every stroke.
My love of photography led me to painting. I am a self-taught artist and have been painting seriously for the last 10 years. I do lean to oil on canvas, but I have also done a little work in watercolor, colored pencil and acrylic as well. I absolutely love rich colors and dramatic contrasts but most of all I enjoy variety. Such beauty surrounds us in our world and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to express what I see and feel.
